General Counsel
Stephanie Cannaday, Esq. is the General Counsel at National Healthcare and Housing Advisors, LLC (NHHA) where she provides legal counsel for the NHHA executive team and staff. Stephanie has extensive healthcare and corporate law experience as she previously represented numerous different clients in the healthcare industry, including as Associate General Counsel position for numerous different UnitedHealth Group companies for over a decade in Irvine, California. Prior to her Associate General Counsel position, she was outside counsel to Verizon Wireless for two years where she provided counsel on commercial real estate transactions. Tapping into her experience and knowledge in healthcare, real estate and corporate law, Stephanie guides and counsels NHHA on an array of legal, regulatory, contract negotiation, corporate governance, compliance and various other legal matters to assist NHHA in accomplishing the street to home model.
In addition to her legal responsibilities as Associate General Counsel, Stephanie was also a member of the National Pro Bono Committee coordinating pro bono events for lawyers and legal staff across the country. She was also the California Pro Bono Coordinator where she coordinated the pro bono opportunities and volunteering events for the lawyers and legal staff in the state of California. Through this pro bono and volunteer work, Stephanie was nominated for and received the 2017 Orange County Spirit of Volunteerism Award for her efforts to serve the community of Orange County, California. As part of many team projects completed, Stephanie worked to assist in ensuring company-wide compliance with all Affordable Care Act requirements, as well as the creation and implementation of contract management systems and processes. Stephanie also created template documents, improved and implemented processes and negotiated contracts for international business in numerous countries, including Brazil, India, England and New South Wales.
Personally, Stephanie has volunteered her time for numerous nonprofits in an effort to serve more vulnerable communities by coordinating volunteer teams, assisting with community cleanup efforts and volunteering at food banks and homeless shelters, including in Skid Row. Stephanie strongly believes that we are blessed for the purpose of blessing others.
