Senior Advisor

Karen Richmond is a seasoned health care executive who has spent her career serving the underserved.  Karen’s professional history includes numerous executive level positions leading teams in start-up and fast paced organizations.   

Karen’s professional resume includes executive level leadership for IPA’s/MSO’s, Medicare and Medi-Cal Health Plans, as well as Community Based Organizations and Non-Profits.  Karen is a strategic leader and a thought partner and thrives in an environment where innovation and diversity are at the forefront of the organization’s mission and purpose.  

Although Karen has focused her career on aligning with organizations who serve the underserved, her previous role was the culmination of both innovation, purpose, and passion, where she led the implementation of CalAIM in Los Angeles County.  Through this effort, Karen was able to bring together nontraditional staff and providers in order to build teams and partnerships for Enhanced Care Management and Community Supports. This expansion of services, including Housing, Meals, Recuperative Care, and more, allows for a different way to think about staffing persons with lived experience, as well as new partners who would not otherwise have the opportunity to shape programs, lives and hearts.  

Karen’s passion is investing in people. She is proud of her ability to create diverse teams of people with unique backgrounds and invest in their future through mentorship and exposure to new projects and opportunities. Through these teams, we find the resilience and passion to create pathways and innovative partnerships for our most vulnerable.
