A seasoned healthcare executive, Karen brings a wealth of expertise and a passion for serving the underserved. Her distinguished career spans numerous executive-level positions across IPA’s/MSO’s, Medicare and Medi-Cal Health Plans, community-based organizations, and nonprofit organizations.

Karen's strategic leadership and innovative mindset have been pivotal in organizations focused on aligning their missions to meet the needs of vulnerable populations. Known for her ability to foster collaboration and diversity, she thrives in environments that prioritize innovation and inclusivity. Reflecting on her work, Karen shared, “The ability to bring together the Medi-Cal program with purpose-driven missions and passions is so amazing. I am blessed to be part of this historic reformation in our healthcare delivery system.” Her leadership in this expansion of services has brought together nontraditional staff and providers, building partnerships that serve to reshape care delivery.

“Being able to continuously innovate to better serve vulnerable populations requires a myriad of new ideas, knowledge, passion, compassion and out of the box thinking,” says NHHA COO, Terry Campbell. “Karen Richmond brings all those qualities and more to NHHA.”

She has consistently built diverse teams, bringing together individuals with unique backgrounds and perspectives. Through mentorship and exposure to new projects, Karen has empowered her teams to innovate and create pathways to better serve the most vulnerable.

"I am excited to work with an organization like NHHA and their partners, who provide a full spectrum of services through an integrated delivery model for the organizations and people who need it most," Karen remarked. "Healthcare delivery today demands that we reimagine the staff we need and engage people with lived experiences, to bring non-profits into partnership with managed care plans. These relationships are built on mission, passion, and personal values, which are essential assets in our teams today."

With Karen Richmond on board, NHHA continues to expand its mission to provide holistic, innovative care and support services for those in need, building stronger communities through compassion, dedication, and forward-thinking partnerships.
