Dariel Flores

Senior Project Manager

Dariel has been involved across different sectors focused on serving vulnerable populations for the majority of his professional career. Specifically, he has worked closely with organizations focused on the disruption of the cycle of homelessness for the last 7 years. Dariel played a pivotal role in connecting housing services to clients as Program Coordinator of Housing Services at the Illumination Foundation. He was invaluable as the bridge between the Illumination Foundation and the HMIS and CES providers within the service region. Through his expertise in service coordination on HMIS and CES pathways, he trained and led housing and case management teams in the Illumination Foundation to connect clients with housing services. In addition, Dariel supervised safe harbor locations through the Project Roomkey program during the Covid-19 pandemic.

For the last 2 years, Dariel has worked with the Department of Public Health, Los Angeles County within the Acute Communicable Disease Control team in the effort to combat Covid-19. Due to his past experience, he was placed as the lead point of contact for correctional facilities within the county and worked closely with contacts at correctional facilities to mitigate the spread of Covid-19 at these facilities. Dariel led training where he would provide updated health guidance and recommendations to implement at the facilities. He utilized his understanding of the challenges and obstacles that vulnerable populations deal with to frame initiatives focused to keep detainees safe from Covid-19. Dariel will continue his professional career in addressing challenges within vulnerable populations as a Senior Project Manager with NHHA.

Dariel is a graduate of University of California, Irvine where he majored in Public Health. He received his MPH from the University of California, Irvine with an emphasis in Epidemiology in 2021.
