NHHA’s Community Care Campus Expands to Serve Imperial Valley

Imperial Valley, CA — NHHA (National Healthcare & Housing Advisors) is proud to announce the expansion of its Community Care Campus to Imperial Valley, California. This milestone marks another significant step in providing comprehensive, integrated care solutions for some of the region's most vulnerable populations.

Members of the Imperial Valley community, particularly those on Medi-Cal, face unique challenges regarding access to healthcare–sometimes traveling to San Diego or even Mexico for care. NHHA’s Community Care Campus, located in Heber, CA, will play a critical role in increasing access to services and ensuring members receive local and quality care.

The new campus will feature the county’s first Recuperative Care site, which provides a safe, supportive environment for individuals discharged from hospitals to recover and stabilize. It will also offer Street Medicine, delivering direct, on-the-ground medical services to individuals experiencing homelessness. Housing Services will connect individuals with sustainable housing solutions and support the transition from homelessness to stability. Additionally, the Behavioral Health program will provide counseling, mental health support, and substance use treatment to address the complex needs of the community. Another critical component of these programs is ensuring clients receive personalized care coordination that addresses complex health and social needs.

NHHA’s expansion into Imperial Valley with this new Community Care Campus represents a critical investment in addressing the healthcare and housing challenges faced by some of the region’s most vulnerable residents. By bringing essential services such as recuperative care, street medicine, behavioral health services and housing support directly to the community, we are strengthening the local healthcare infrastructure and improving access to high-quality, person-centered care. We are excited to collaborate with NHHA to ensure Medi-Cal members in Imperial Valley receive the comprehensive support they need to achieve better health outcomes and long-term stability.

— Kathleen Lang, Vice President, Medi-Cal Regional Lead

The expansion into Imperial Valley reflects NHHA’s dedication to addressing the intersecting challenges of homelessness, healthcare access, and housing stability in rural areas, which are often underserved and sometimes forgotten.
